Seda Mergen –
Masters of Counselling Psychology

In Seda’s (she/her) work as a psychologist she has seen despair, fear, entrenched patterns of dysfunctional behaviour, as well as post-traumatic growth, strengthened connections, and humans’ remarkable capacity for courage and resilience.
She is passionate about supporting individuals to increase their self-awareness, and grow their confidence.

Background and Experience

Seda has been awarded a Masters of Counselling Psychology at Swinburne University. She has worked in both community service and educational settings and has experience working with clients across the lifespan. Her main therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Seda has a special interest in working with young people and adults on issues such as:

Mood and anxiety disorders

Stressful life situations and transitions

Trauma

Relationship difficulties

Grief and loss

Perinatal mental health

Seda is bilingual, fluent in both English and Turkish, and offers a culturally informed and trauma-sensitive approach to therapy. She welcomes people from all walks of life, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone. 

Seda offers appointments via telehealth on Mondays, and in-person or telehealth sessions on Fridays from our Coburg location and on Saturdays from our Carlton North location.
