Paula brings a social justice, intersectional lens that acknowledges the impact of systems and structures on experiences of marginalisation and identity. Her practice is culturally responsive and committed to providing trauma sensitive, neuro-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ care.

Background and Experience

Paula (she/her) brings a gentle, compassionate and curious approach to each session, working from a trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive, and strengths-based framework to create a safe, supportive space to help clients. Paula is an accredited mental health social worker offering psychotherapy and counselling to adults. Paula works with individuals experiencing a range of issues such as:
Anxiety,
Depression,
Stress and emotional difficulties,
Grief and loss,
Sexual assault,

Family violence recovery,

Relationship issues
and particularly interested in supporting clients navigating complex trauma/PTSD.

Her therapeutic approach is a unique blend of somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment/relational theory, trauma-focused acceptance and commitment Therapy (TF-ACT) and EMDR. She draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, such as:

Trauma-focused Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
EMDR (level 1)
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Hakomi mindful somatic psychotherapy
Mindfulness
Relational formulation (cognitive analytic therapy)
Paula is available either in-person or via Telehealth on Thursdays from our Carlton North location. After hours appointments are available.
